Graphic Designer (at the rank of IT Technician) in the Technology-Enriched Learning Initiative (TELI) (Ref.: 495546) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Higher Diploma or above in Multimedia Graphic Design or a relevant discipline, with at least 1 year’s post qualification work experience as a web, game or animation graphic designer in an in-house or agency environment. A good command of spoken and written English; excellent problem solving skills and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels; self-motivation; a strong sense of responsibility; and a flair for creativity and innovation combined with attention to details are essential. Applicants should be a team-player who can work across functional boundaries and an enthusiastic self-starter who can develop and see through new initiatives. They should also have demonstrated skills in the use of typography, color schemes, layout and other design elements to create a balanced composition in any medium (website, poster, social media, etc.). Strong expertise in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator & In-Design) is required. Those with experience in character design, photo retouching, multimedia applications, advanced motion graphics, video editing and mobile/tablet apps development would be highly preferred. Knowledge of Wordpress, CSS and web UI frameworks will be an advantage.
The appointee will perform a full range of project support to the Jockey Club SMART Family-Link Project, with the aims to promote family well-being by leveraging Information and Communications Technology for innovative family service. He/She will be responsible for the design and development of multimedia content for social media, mobile application, animations and other e-learning materials. He/She should be committed to professional and high quality design practice, with the ability to meet tight deadlines, and prioritize a demanding workload but without compromising quality.
