The Company

Our Client is a well-established global pharmaceutical group. It is a certified pharmaceutical manufacturer and reputable in providing quality and accessible OTC medicines and health formulae to the public at affordable prices, as well as bringing therapies to patients that significantly improve their well-being. The job holder will report to GM-Operations in the Hong Kong headquarters, with support from the Senior Consultant, Technical Advisory.

Roles

• Build a world-class team of scientists, engineers and technologists with complementary background, experience and expertise, and conduct drug product formulation research & development covering the entire process from idea inception to commercial-scale production
• Set up R&D workshop and laboratory in a new facility, and collaborate with process engineers for refinement of drug products and provide support for technology transfer
• Develop partnership network of external collaborators in academic, government and the private sector, with evaluation and appointment of CRO for R&D support and sharing of knowledge in GMP and PIC/s ICH guidelines for CMC development and dossier compilation
• Optimize the company’s product portfolio to capture market growth & expansion opportunities by introducing advanced delivery dosage forms to both drug and consumer market and bringing in off-patent drugs ready for manufacture
• Ensure that the present line of drug products stay competitive in the OTC & Government tender market by enhancement/reformulation of existing products and refinement of QC methods, and create a dynamic environment conducive to the development of a steady stream of innovative science-based drug products preferred by consumers
• Optimize the new production capacity to capture bigger business opportunities in the OTC market by refining the operation model in execution of OTC product transfer and optimizing PV/ engineering batch capacity with GMP teams

Requirement

• Master/PhD degree in pharmaceutical sciences, physiology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical manufacturing or equivalent.
• At least 15 years’ solid experience in Drug R&D roles acquired from Pharmaceutical OTC business
• Has extensive experience in pharmaceutical product development and manufacturing process
• Has hands-on experience in design and evaluation of a wide range of formulation in industry or CRO
• Familiar with drug registration regulatory requirement for Greater China (HK& PRC major market), and familiarity with N. America market will be an advantage
• Has high standard analytical capability and understands drug market and consumer trend  
• Chinese language (Mandarin/Cantonese) is a must, and English preferred
