Job Description

Role Overview:
Reporting to the Group CIO, you will lead a team of developers and collaborate with stakeholders to design, develop, and deploy high-quality software applications. Your role will involve strategic planning, resource management, and ensuring that applications align with business objectives and meet user requirements.

Within this leadership role, you will provide technical leadership and guidance to the Application Development Team as well as drive the technical roadmap for application development, including the adoption of new tools, frameworks, and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute a comprehensive application development strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
* Oversee the end-to-end application development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation and testing.
* Collaborate with stakeholders, such as product managers, business analysts, and architects, to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
* Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of applications, managing priorities, resources, and dependencies effectively.
* Ensure applications are scalable, reliable, and secure, meeting user expectations and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain the stability of the application production environments, leading incident response and finding pragmatic resolutions to problems within defined SLAs.
* Define project scope, timelines, and resource requirements for successful application development initiatives.
* Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
* Plan resources effectively across development and maintenance activities.

Requirements:
* Proven Application Development experience in a leadership position.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software development, or a related field.
* Experience in application engineering or software development, with a track record of delivering successful projects.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
* In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
* Proficient in programming languages such as Java, C#, Python or others.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
* Highly proficient in building microservices architectures.
* Experiencing deploying ‘secure by design’ coding practices.
