Guest Services Agent (Concierge)

What you will be doing:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Assist guests with mail, messages, and any plans or arrangements they require
  • Assist with any plans or arrangements the guest intends to make during their stay
  • Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety policies 
  • Other duties as assigned

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum 1 year Front of House experience working in a luxury brand hotel, or equivalent, is required
  • Experience in Concierge or Front Office is considered a strong asset
  • Ability to advise guests on Metro Vancouver, its history, activities and attractions is required
  • Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment 
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Proficient in the English language (verbal & written) is required. A second language is considered a strong asset
  • Previous PMS experience an asset 
  • Must be able to type 55 words per minute
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Hospitality education is an asset
  • Must be flexible in terms of working hours
  • Must have the ability to handle cash effectively and accurately 
  • Ability to work flexible schedules (including evenings and weekends) 
  • Ability to work weekends, and holidays
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada (the Hotel is unable to assist applicants in obtaining Canadian work authorization)

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): 

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
