The Teacher of English as a second language will be required to teach throughout the German Primary Department with a lesson load between 20 to 28 lessons a week.

In addition to their role as a teacher, the successful candidate will work with their subject/curriculum area colleagues and with the support of the Head of Department to ensure good professional practice and to maintain high standards of teaching and learning. S/he co-ordinates the teaching of the relevant subject/curriculum area and takes a leading role in curriculum development. S/he will develop an annual subject/curriculum area action plan, in line with the Departmental Development Plan/Development Goals, to enhance the development of the subject/curriculum area. In consultation with the Head of Department, this will determine the focus and priorities for the year ahead.

The successful candidate will be an excellent practitioner who is dedicated to enabling each child to achieve the highest possible standards. She/he will be expected to be up-to-date with current teaching and learning practices with regards to differentiated learning, assessment and reporting. She/he will be a dynamic, open-minded and enthusiastic practitioner who is dedicated to providing learning opportunities for every student commensurate to her/his needs, abilities and stage of development, by teaching a programme that gives each student the opportunity to experience success, and which challenges all students to achieve their full potential.

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

• Teacher qualification including EAL
• Native Englisch speaker, german language skills a plus
• Team player and great communication skills, experience in a leading a team desired
• Culturally sensitive, tolerant and patient
• Positive work ethic
• Teaching experience in an international context is desirable
