Position Overview

SDL is looking for a Human Resources Advisor to support its Human Resources department in our Montreal Canada office. You will act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees in Canada. In this position, you will report to the Senior HRBP based in the Montreal office.

 

 As part of the HR NASA team, your primary duties include interacting with employees, updating internal HR systems, maintaining personnel records, managing HR policies and procedures, managing the pay, and supporting HR programs. Our ideal candidate has experience with HR procedures and can juggle various administrative tasks in a timely manner.

Ultimately, the candidate should ensure our HR department supports our employees while conforming to labor laws.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and administer HR database, ensuring employees’ records are accurate.
  • Be the main point of contact for employees while responding to general inquiries and resolving issues in accordance with legislation and company policies.
  • Manage email inbox, ensuring that all queries are answered appropriately and escalated where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian regulations and reporting.
  • Administer all aspects of the New Hire, Termination and Life Cycle processes.
  • Interact with Business Partners, Line managers, Finance, Payroll, IT, Legal, Commercial and operations to support corporate initiatives.
  • Support and administer HR initiatives (e.g. Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, Bill 90, Employee recognition, Performance management…).
  • Undertake adhoc duties as and when required.

    Skills & Knowledge

  • Must be fluent in both French and English (speaking, writing, reading)
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Great attention to details.
  • Maintains confidentiality, remains open to other’s ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.
  • Adapts swiftly to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands, and is able to deal with frequent change, delays and unexpected events.
  • Exposure to and knowledge about Employment-related legislations (provincial and federal), HR procedures and processes, Employee relations, Training, Performance Management.
  • Excellent computer skills with experience and knowledge of HRIS and Payroll software, data entry, word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Outgoing personality with excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize between multiple demands and projects.

    Experience & Education

  • 2 years of work experience as an HR Administrator or relevant role.
  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources or relevant field.
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Experience with HRIS/HRMS applications. Sales force, ADP & workforce now experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Canada labor laws.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
