Key Responsibilities:
Coach and develop senior leaders in your assigned business unit, acting as both a coach and trusted senior advisor.
Develop and drive a robust people plan for your assigned business units
Provide pragmatic people solutions for your assigned business unit.
Partner where needed with centralised HR specialists to drive holistic and sustainable business focused outcomes aligned to AIA’s Vision and Values.
Stay abreast of HR best practice and be proactive in recommending improved policy, processes and practices to support both the companies People Strategy and achievement of departmental business and people plans.
Provide advice, coaching and knowledge transfer to influence managers, individuals and teams around the effective application and utilisation of HR tools and resources.
Build relationships across the organisation to ensure that HR continues to be viewed as an expert area proactively partnering with the business.
Lead and/or contribute to key projects that support the achievement of business and/or HR objectives.
Inspire others to achieve their potential. Role model company behaviours. Work towards creating an environment where people want to be and do their best.
Role model continuous improvement behaviours and practices, tangibly demonstrating value through ROI that can be attributed to our productivity framework.
Experience required:
Ability to think broadly and laterally and bring ideas to the table for continuous improvement to support moving the business forward.
Ability to connect well with a diverse audience and influence stakeholders
Strong working knowledge of current NZ employment legislation and environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong decision-making ability
Understanding of Gallup or an alternative engagement methodology.
Familiarity with job evaluation methodology
Change management techniques and experience
Highly competent user of Microsoft Office applications
HR Business Partner or Advisory experience, ideally with recent exposure to the financial services industry.
Strong generalist background possibly combined with specialist skills in ER or Performance Management.
Ability to operate at pace and in a complex environment
Demonstrated success in partnering with a business unit, building effective relationships and influencing others.
HR Qualification is desirable
