Job Description

In this role you work closely together with leaders and co-workers in the Inter IKEA group functions. Together you build up business competence, leadership and culture to achieve business results. As HR & Competence leader you fulfil the business needs of today and tomorrow by translating IKEA people strategies and approaches, competence initiatives and area- specific competence plans into action. This role offers a variety of strategic people related topics combined with operational/tactical work.
This means that you:
- Ensure that IKEA people strategy, people initiatives & plans are translated into action to fulfil business needs for today and tomorrow.
- Coach managers and co-workers to continuously develop leadership capabilities and support with people agenda related questions.
- Implement and maintain human resources processes by working with relevant stakeholders in areas such as recruitment, succession, leadership & competence development, compensation & benefits and working environment to secure operational excellence.
- Promote IKEA culture and key values through initiatives that contribute to a trustful, diverse and humanistic workplace.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulators within the people and culture area and liaise with HR Operations to take action in case of deviations or potential improvements.
- Lead and/or contribute to cross - IKEA people and culture projects and initiatives as part of the IKEA group People Culture matrix and relevant management team forums.
Qualifications
You are passionate about working with people and business and have a strong belief in people’s potential. You are a true partner to our leaders and understand the impact this assignment has and could have on the wider IKEA scope.
You are well experienced in leading similar assignments and have a good understanding of how to attract, develop and retain talents in a new era. Your strength is to translate the IKEA business needs into action by setting clear objectives, navigate, collaborate and enable all involved parties to achieve business results.
Furthermore, you have an eagerness to work together in an international, complex and fast-changing environment and have a desire to actively contribute to keeping the IKEA key values a living reality.
What’s more, we believe that you have the following knowledge, capabilities and motivation:
- Live and share the IKEA values every day.
- Human resources or related field university education with a minimum of 8-10 years of people and culture related experience. Previous IKEA experience is highly valued.
- Motivated by combining work with long term strategic agendas with tactical and operational project and tasks.
- Previous people leadership experience, specialized in one or more people and culture fields (e.g. leadership or competence development).
- Knowledge and understanding of the IKEA people framework
- In-depth knowledge of people and culture /human resources processes, tools and practices.
- Good knowledge of labour law in general and the market conditions/trends.
- Capability to lead and translate long/short-term strategies and business needs into people and culture related actions.
- Capability to coach, facilitate and transfer knowledge with proper communication skills in a complex and fast-changing environment.
- Highly motivated to build relationships, partnerships and networks to develop IKEA.
Additional Information
This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) based in Delft, The Netherlands, reporting to the People & HR Process Manager.
