This exciting role offers opportunity to: Supporting the Plant Manager and the site leadership teams the Human Resources Manager has responsibility for all Human Resource activities and programs in Dongguan. This position serves as a business partner focused on areas such as HR strategy, mergers and acquisitions, organizational development and effectiveness, talent management and development, hiring, staffing and retention, succession planning, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, diversity, legal compliance, and general administration. This position is a key member of the various site management teams as well as being a key member within the Life Safety Division & Chinese HR Community. In addition, the position is accountable to support and deploy the overall corporate objectives and programs including the company’s culture, values and guiding principles. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Partner with the Business Unit Managers as strategic business/human resource leader. Supports achievement of overall business objectives through the design and implementation of effective HR strategy, programs, practices, policies and tools. Develops and implements organizational structure and alignment recommendations linked to strategy. Capable of leading organizational redesign projects. Leading significant recruitment and training/upskilling projects brought about by acquisition/organic business growth Leads / coordinates HR due diligence and integration activities for all acquisition targets. Helps the business ensure there is a continuing talent pool of skills and leadership available to drive the business. This will include providing direction and leadership in succession planning, training, talent development and performance management. Coaches and develops high performing plant HR and staff, and supporting them in driving effective recruiting and retention strategies and other HR initiatives focused on meeting human capital needs. Develops, recommends and implements policies, procedures and employee feedback tools designed to promote and monitor a positive employee relations climate and the accomplishment of Company objectives. Ensures company values and principles are sustained and takes a lead role in fostering a work environment that is focused on building customer loyalty, innovation, globalization, talent development and operational excellence. Develops and supports operational and process improvement programs that lead to a more lean and efficient business, and develops HR policies and procedures that support business growth, profit, and cost containment objectives. Working with the APAC Corporate compensation team, ensure an effective compensation structure is in place that is competitive in the market place and supports the needs of the business. Create organizational capacity for change, leading and sponsoring programs that promote organizational flexibility and effectiveness Develops and monitors labor-management relations and human resource strategies in a manner that will decrease the dependence of employees on third party representation. Should a union exist in the future, develops and execute strategies that will produce labor contract agreements in line with company objectives. Deploys an effective employee communications strategy to provide updates on current business performance and allows for employee feedback on issues affecting the workforce. Working with the local HR Service Centre team to support ongoing HR transactional activity Ensures the company is in compliance with all applicable legislation regarding labor relations, employee relations, diversity, employment, employee benefits, safety, compensation and other employee related matters. Qualifications Requirement: HR Degree in related discipline, Masters preferably Minimum 5 years HR leadership experience within the manufacturing industry Demonstrated working knowledge of Chinese employment legislation Prior experience with project management roles beneficial Experience of significant change management projects is essential Good command of English language is essential Business acumen with financial skills, especially cost center management and business case analysis and development.
