Eaton’s Innovation Center is currently seeking an HR Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Montreal, QC location and offers remote work opportunities. Position Overview: The primary function for this position is to be a high performing business partner with direct responsibility for the Engineering Innovation Center in Montreal, Canada and to the employee population based in Quebec City (Levis). Eaton’s Digital Office functional teams are the largest consumer of the space with growth plans from other businesses across Eaton. This HR leader will serve as the expert on Quebec provincial practices and regulations and will serve as a consultant to other Eaton divisions not immediately part of the assigned footprint. This role will report directly to the HR leader responsible for Electrical Sector Engineering and functionally to the HR leader with Energy Automation Solutions (EAS) business unit. As an integral part of the site’s leadership team, this role will identify, develop and deploy business-driven HR strategies designed to attract, manage, develop, motivate and retain key people while creating a high-performance, sustainable organization capable of achieving the business objectives. In partnership with the Innovation Center site leader, this HR leadership role is accountable for the oversight and management of all elements of operational HR including performance and talent management, positive employee relations planning/communication, employee development, succession development and execution, culture/employee engagement, and compensation/benefits. In this function, the HR Manager: Establishes solid business partnerships and networks while leading the function to drive the performance of the business Aligns HR programs and initiatives to both short and long-term strategic goals and develops, optimizes, and implements HR policies; shares and communicates best practices across divisions Serves as a subject matter expert in areas of legal/compliance, such as government rules and regulations, ensures compliance with regulatory standards for assigned sites, and consults with peers to ensure other sites in Quebec are compliant Understands market and industry trends and advises senior leaders on human capital strategies Transforms and fosters an organizational culture with a passion for excellence and maximizes the employee experience Provides leadership guidance, coaching, and mentoring; leads/navigates others through change management; influences various stakeholders as innovation growth evolves to serve other divisions Counsels and/or coaches’ employees and managers regarding employee relations, performance management, applicable laws and facilitation of informal/formal investigations Utilizes best practice methodologies to enhance organization structure, roles and responsibilities, job redesigns, and job descriptions and skill assessments Builds organizational capability through ownership of talent management processes including acquisition, assessment, performance management, employee development, succession planning and retention. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required Minimum of 8 years of human resources experience with role progression Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience Must be fluent in French and English Preferred qualifications (Not necessary, but good to have!): Bachelor's degree in business management or human resources management Master's degree in business or human resources Ability to understand, interpret and easily communicate and align policies and practices to the Eaton Philosophy & Values and Code of Ethics Proven ability to influence and work effectively across all levels in a highly matrixed, global and diverse workforce Demonstrate discretion and ability to work with sensitive and confidential materials and possess good business judgment Strong knowledge of employment laws and ability to apply legal concepts to real world situations Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal across a wide audience Proven ability to deal with conflict and diffuse difficult situations Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to pull complex data from assorted sources and systems Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) Program development and deployment.
