Job summary

The Red Hat People (HR) team is looking for an HR Manager to join us in Beijing, China at our engineering site. In this role, you will work closely alongside the site leadership team and associates as a trusted advisor to guide and develop the HR function within the Product and Technology (PnT) team in China. You will be responsible for delivering solutions that deliver business results across a diverse customer portfolio, including developer, quality engineering (QE), global support, and service teams. In addition to the partnership with the business, you will also be responsible for guiding continuous improvement and operational excellence by ensuring that compliance programs and process improvements support scalability and efficiencies. As an HR Manager, you’ll also be responsible for managing employee relations within China for the engineering associates.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Provide internal guidance on a broad range of HR issues and manage the entire employee life cycle, including performance management, employee relations, and support managers to improve associate engagement and business performance
  • Work according to the priorities of the talent strategy set by the APAC or regional management and collaborate with our global centers of excellence (CoE)
  • Contribute to the development of the overall HR function by sharing best practices and knowledge and contributing to or leading the APAC HR projects
  • Participate in developing and implementing results on key organizational issues for the region, including process improvement, change management, leadership development, and retention strategy
  • Help to guide and implement talent management initiatives in the region and assists teams with their HR strategies
  • Help communicate HR programs to managers and associates; provide guidance on local employment laws, policies, and procedures

Required skills

  • Experience working in HR in an international, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of the China market
  • Understanding of how to structure HR processes and workflows
  • Eager to partner with internal customers through daily activities
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to think strategically and conceptually and work on multiple tasks at the same time
  • Solid interpersonal, coaching, facilitating, and conflict management skills
  • Experience with key HR areas, including training and development, organizational development, and performance management
  • Ability to implement and deliver results on your own
  • Fluent Mandarin and English language skills
