HR Manager, Compliance, and Employment

 

Location: This position has the flexibility to accommodate hybrid, fully remote, or in-office work to qualified candidates in the USA

 

Position Summary:

HR Manager, Compliance, and Employment, US will provide a unique opportunity for an HR professional looking for a new challenge. You will be the subject matter expert for US regulatory compliance in our US HR Operational Excellence team, reporting to the Senior HR Manager, Americas. This is a unique opportunity to work for a public software company in which you will partner with the Human Resources / Talent Advancement team globally.

In this position, you will own the end-to-end process of all the compliance reporting and lead critical aspects of federal, state, and local compliance for a government contractor with presence across the US. You will be the process owner for ISO and SOC2 and all the government compliance requirements. This role expects handling the confidential data and requires command over Microsoft suite as well as knowledge and expertise in data analysis. Your Day-to-Day:

  • Maintain expertise in and advise senior leadership on legal requirements related to day-to-day management of regulatory compliance in US states. Work across the team to devise and implement solutions to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Ownership of regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring an accurate and timely filing including but not limited to EEO-1, CA Pay Data, VETS, and Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Provide clear and accurate interpretation of employment policies as relevant for Bentley offices across the US to HR leadership and other stakeholders – for example, wage and hour, payroll compliance, employment classifications.
  • Analyze trends and metrics and collaborate with rest of HR team to develop solutions, make recommendations, and execute programs.
  • Apply technical expertise to provide information for various projects and/or requests initiated by HR or by senior management. Determine data needs, identify trends, interpret data, and make recommendations.
  • Train US HR team on required information and advise on process creation and maintenance to ensure compliance.
  • Act as a single point of contact for various audits, including but not limited to FLSA, DOL, OFCCP, ISO, SOC2.
  • Support I-9 employment verification and reverification administration and provide technical subject matter authority.
  • Partner with US HR, Talent Acquisition, and Total Rewards teams on FLSA analysis and determination.
  • Manage relationships with external compliance vendors.
  • Advise and counsel colleagues, managers, and executives in all human resources compliance matters to drive business success through building, energizing & optimizing our global talent advantage.
  • Collaborate with broader team on acquisitions to ensure compliance standards are met.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in US compliance and legislation by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Audit background checks and assist with background adjudications.
  • Resolve colleague relations issues through conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Labor Law postings oversight, including staying up to date on developments and changes.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or Business or equivalent experience and 5-7 years of HR Generalist or Manager experience working for a government contractor.
  • Strong command of principles and practices of human resources management in the US.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication, engagement, and diplomacy skills in dealing with colleagues at all levels of the organization. 
  • Innovative and creative approach to problem solving, planning, and implementation 
  • Ability to act independently and quickly resolve problems and make decisions.
  • Solid organizational skills, including the ability to accomplish demanding timeline objectives, multi-task on assignments and be comfortable with change and continuous improvement 
  • Passion and sense of urgency for execution; natural curiosity and willingness to take risks; ability to use creativity to problem solve; ability to look at human resources in new and different ways; desire to make a difference 
  • Skilled in data analytics, Microsoft Office tools and Talent Management systems 
  • Adaptable to change 
  • Public company and IT industry experience is preferred.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer. The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company in person (on occasion), and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.
  • This role does not require travel.

 

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or Business 
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP designation
