Eaton is seeking a Human Resources Manager for its Electrical Sector Americas’ (ES-A) distribution center in sunny Fontana, CA. Position Overview: This position is based at a distribution center location with 120 employees. The role will report directly to the Distribution Center Leader, functionally to the HR Leader of Operations, Supply Chain and Distribution Centers for ES-A. As an integral part of the site leadership team, the site HR Manager will identify and deploy business-driven HR strategies to create a high-performance, sustainable organization capable of achieving the business objectives and action plans. In this function you will: Lead the Human Resources function and act as a key member of the site leadership team to drive all strategic and operational HR activities for the site. Drive the Eaton Business System across the distribution center, fostering employee engagement through an inclusive culture focused on safety, customer focus and continuous improvement / learning Deploy the employee relations strategy across two shifts by building relationships, practicing positive employee engagement and investigating and resolving employee issues timely and effectively. Own the talent acquisition strategy for all salaried and hourly positions while understanding trends in the local and national labor markets, facility turnover and annual profit plan headcount requirements. Create and execute the talent management and organizational effectiveness strategy by championing robust cross-training, succession planning, performance management practices and developing talent. Build organizational capability process by ensuring high levels of manager effectiveness, employee engagement and inclusion and diversity strategies to ensure facility has the talent and teams needed to meet our customer’s needs and key metrics. Drive functional excellence through deployment of Eaton programs, ensuring quality of process and content and alignment with the Eaton Business System to achieve goals and objectives. Develop, optimize, document, and standardize sustainable processes, sharing best practices across the division. Foster a culture where ownership of health and safety is embraced by all employees. Ensure compliance with all country, provincial, federal, and state laws, and compliance requirements. Continuously evaluate and assesses the HR procedures and practices for efficiency and applicability; recommending updates and changes as needed and required Develop, implement and manage plant wide committees including but not limited to Inclusion & Diversity, Rewards & Recognition, Community Involvement, and Wellness Why work at Eaton? Self-directed, proactive leadership style, reliable, self-starter Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a multi-functional and matrixed organization Demonstrates professionalism and service-oriented personality with all levels of employees and senior leaders Demonstrate Eaton’s Leadership Attributes and serve as a role model for facility, including upholding Eaton Code of Ethics Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Minimum of 3 years progressive HR generalist experience Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without company sponsorship. Preferred qualifications: Specialized knowledge of the interpretation of laws, regulations and standards, and enforcement agencies for equal employment opportunities, safety, wage and hour, unemployment, workers’ compensation and labor law. Experience with California labor/employment laws Preference for a Master’s degree in human resources or an MBA with a human resources concentration. Bilingual in Spanish language Supervisory experience Minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution center environment Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.
