Eaton’s Hydraulics division is currently seeking a HR Operations Manager to join our team. The role reports directly to the site HR Manager. This position is based at our Van Wert, Ohio facility. The Van Wert manufacturing plant has approximately 1,000 employees and annual sales of $500+ million. Position Overview: The HR Manager – Plant Operations will lead plant staffing strategy, employee relations, training and employee engagement. The successful candidate will be passionate, ethical, humble and driven to improve plant metrics and quality of work experience for all employees. You will champion initiatives to improve safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, cost and culture. You will manage a team of 2-3 HR Generalists with the expectation of achieving results and developing your team’s capabilities. You will partner with a peer Manager – HR Programs to create, implement and sustain programs and initiatives to improve all aspects of the business and employee experience. In this function you will: You will lead a team of 2-3 HR Generalists by creating team strategy to meet plant objectives and continually improve the business while developing team through on the job learning and professional mentoring. You own establishing high performance expectations that value inclusion, diversity and work/life balance. You will ensure a margin of time for strategic thinking and continuous improvement projects for self and your team. However, you must also balance hands on tactical actions. You will support improving manager capabilities and effectiveness. You will coach managers and support them with difficult conversations on accountability and rewarding high performance and positive behaviors. You will partner with operations and finance to understand current and future headcount (full-time and temporary) needs for plant, and by department and shift, considering inputs such as future demand, attrition, absenteeism, vacation, leave of absences, etc. You will develop the strategy for improving speed and quality of hire and proactively address absenteeism and overtime concerns. You will own employee onboarding and offboarding. Key focus areas are orientation, first 90 days experience, exit interviewing and retirements. You will lead employee training process for scheduling and record retention. You will partner with EHS, Quality and Operations to understand training needs and address with appropriate employee group. You will lead strategy to recognize critical positions and ensure pipeline of talent. You will lead strategy to identify top talent and accelerate development. You will create and implement actions to build capabilities for employees at all levels of the organization. You will support creation of plant and HR goals and performance review process including manager training, employee performance discussions, rating calibrations etc. You will own compensation and employee benefit administration. You will ensure annual market wage survey for pay competitiveness. You will regularly audit internal compensation for equity. You will own employee recognition, and engagement processes such as wellness activities, inclusion and diversity events, community outreach, plant celebrations, etc. You will own plant communication strategy and administration including, but not limited to All Employee Meetings, round tables, text alerts, Tier meetings, etc. You will own administering employee policies, procedures and leaves of absence including FMLA, disability and workers’ compensation. You will represent the Company’s programs, policies, and procedures in matters involving EEOC, AAP, and OFCCP. You will monitor all programs to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal labor laws, including Title VII, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, ADAAA, ADEA, Equal Pay Act, FCRA, and WARN as applicable. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college. Minimum of 3 years HR experience Minimum of 1 year managing people. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without company sponsorship. Preferred qualifications: Masters or advanced degree. Manufacturing experience. Specialized knowledge of the interpretation of laws, regulations and standards, and enforcement agencies for equal employment opportunities, safety, wage and hour, unemployment, workers’ compensation and labor law. Knowledge of Microsoft Office product Eaton has announced it has reached an agreement to sell its Hydraulics Business to Danfoss A/S. This transaction is expected to be completed by the end of Q2 in 2021 and this position is expected to remain with the Hydraulics Business and would transfer to Danfoss A/S. upon close. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton’s plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Hydraulics Business when the transaction closes, Danfoss A/S will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.
