Job Description

This position leads health, safety and environmental oversight in order to successfully execute Company’s Sustaining Capital projects in China. The HSE Manager ensures compliance with company and regulatory requirements for the site capital projects. The HSE Manager will actively interface with the manufacturing and Corporate HSE teams. 

Responsibilities:

·       Provide oversight and direction to ensure the sustain projects are compliant with regulations, guidelines, procedures, and industry standards

·       Evaluate design, practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to regulations; review and update as necessary to ensure compliance

·       Conduct HSE inspections, evaluations and risk assessments for the project

·       Liaise with EPCM and/or site contractors to ensure efficient discharge for their designated tasks

·       Responsible for the alignment of the HSE Management Plan with Company expectations including all aspects of contractor (and sub-contractor) safety management

·       Monitor current and future legal, regulatory and other requirements applicable

·       Ensure potential impacts and controls are communicated to project management

·       Ensure incident investigations are effective to discover root causes and ensure appropriate actions are identified, implemented, and monitored

·      Supervision of HSE supervisors’ daily work and contractor safety performance.
