SAFETY TECHNICIAN

It’s the Safety technician responsibility to ensure Safety Legal - and Mars standards are secured in the normal day to day work within our organization. Executing HSE audits - inspections and risk assessments are “key” and essential for our continuous improvement program. On daily base the safety technician is taking part in FMOS meeting to help the operation and solve the HSE escalations together. Part of this critical role is also analyzing and communication about Safety data and take learnings to improve on safety, by mitigating risks. The responsible person is showing the right behavior, speak out when this is needed and is very inspiring to influence our associates on safety mindset.

The safety technician reports to Joost Hoogvliet (HSE manager), works in own HSE team and together with other departments: e.g manufacturing, maintenance, Q&FS, logistics, commercial
 

Your Key Responsibilities as Safety Technician

  • You maintain continuous improvement of the HSE Management System to comply with the Mars Global HSE and Legal Standards within the site. (incl. creating and updating all relevant HSE procedures in Nexus)
  • You are the first point of contact for operations concerning Safety issues resulting in a HSE incident report. Helping to finalize the report with root case analysis and judge about risk level (Kinney score) 
  • You are the HSE support in projects:  risk assessments / implement improvement plans and evaluate results
  • You report and monitor Safety measurements/ issues
  • You improve safety awareness by coaching and speaking out to management and non-management
  • You organize and execute RI&E’s, safety audits & inspections and gap assessments on Mars standards and implementation into improvement plans
  • You execute and create Safety training for total site
  • You are the coordinator of Health & Wellbeing activities
  • You play a leading role in safety pillar
     

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum MVK or HVK education (MBO+/ HBO)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar function and in (food)manufacturing organization.
  • It is very important that you can speak Dutch and English
  • Knowledge of ISO safety management system 18001, VCA, ARBO
  • Experience safety audits & inspections / risk assessments
  • Good communications and Coaching skills ,Organizing and prioritizing, and strong focus on identifying risks

It’s the safety coordinator responsibility to ensure Safety and Environmental Legal and Mars standards are secured in the normal day to day work within our organization. Executing HSE audits - inspections and risk assessments are “key” for and essential for our continuous improvement program.

On daily base the safety coordinator is taking part in FMOS meeting to help the operation and discuss and solve the HSE escalations.

Part of this critical role is also managing the Wastewater treatment process. Important is to work according legal permit and the process should eliminate waste at maximum level.

The responsible person is showing the right behavior and speak out when thus is needed.

As a Safety & environmental advisor for the OBL factory communication skills needs to be at good level to help the different departments within Mars OBL.

The HSE technician reports to Joost Hoogvliet (SES manager), works in own HSE team and together with other departments : e.g manufacturing ( value stream ) maintenance, Q&FS, logistics, commercial, etc,

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the HSE support in projects:  risk assessments / implement improvement plans and evaluate results
  • Reporting and monitoring  Safety and environmental measurements/ issues
  • Improving safety awareness by speaking out to management and non management
  • Plan and execute RI&E’s, safety audits & inspections and gap assessments on Mars standards and implementation into improvement plans
  • Responsible for wastewater treatment process
  • Coordination of all cleaning activities in the factory
  • Execute and create Safety & environmental training for total site
  • Coordination and execute safety checks for W@H tools.
