Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a HVAC Technician to join our team on 1st shift. This position is based at our Rumford, RI facility Pay Rate: $34.39/hour Position Hours: 7AM-3PM At Eaton, we know that good benefit plans are important to employees and their families. Position Overview: Plan, layout and perform all required operations in the installation, repair, and maintenance of a wide variety of heating, ventilating and refrigeration equipment including all associated electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical controls. Measure pressures, flows temperatures of refrigerants with appropriate test. Measure air flows, temperatures, and pressure with appropriate test equipment. Prepare drawings of the HVAC systems existing or proposed. Calculate heat pumping requirements and capabilities for new and existing systems. Specify systems for new installations. Specify and/or fabricate ductwork. Install compete new or replacement systems including ductwork. Instruct and direct a crew of 3 or more persons. Perform pipefitting. Specify and order support supplies and equipment. Specify test equipment Assist in and/or build porotype machinery, or experimental equipment, including preparation of prints, fabricating parts, assembly, and test. Work with outside technicians when required. Assume normal duties of maintenance repair person including plumbing, carpentry, driving, painting, moving, and installing equipment and furniture, snow removal and sanding, (manually and mechanically) cement work, welding, roof repair, and overall maintenance of building and grounds. Responsible for own and work of others. Report difficulties, hazards, or unusual conditions to supervision. Maintain work area, equipment, supplies, and tools in clean, orderly, and safe condition. Observe prescribed safety precautions, company rules and regulations. Work involves a wide range of difficult operations requiring skill and thorough knowledge of the trade to install and maintain all types of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, and other refrigeration equipment with proper regard to the safe operation of such equipment. Perform machine maintenance work. Direct and instruct helpers when appropriate. Perform firefighting and assist in emergency situations as directed, inspect hazardous waste storage facilities, correct deficiencies, and dispose of waste material in a way consistent with State and Federal regulations. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution Must have a Rhode Island Journeyman Class 1 registration Must have a Rhode Island Pipefitters Journeyman Class 1 registration Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
