Job Description
Role Summary:
With the aim of supporting the digital transformation of the High Voltage apparatus, the HSV Field digital project engineer will oversee the digital projects from the tendering stage to the commissioning in the domain of monitoring of the primary equipment GIS or AIS, monitoring of Partial discharge, control and control switching of circuit breaker
Essential Responsibilities:
Costing and Proposal Management (40%)
In coordination with the worldwide tendering teams
Read and interpret Request For Quotation (RFQ), including complex Single Line Diagram (SLD) and customer specifications
Define Intelligence Electronic Devices (IEDs) application in High Voltage (HV) electrical environment
Clarify the potential Project threats.
Advise customers (direct and/or end users) and clarify their needs and requirements.
Define and quote proper IED solutions. Determine complete scope of work for IED implementation.
Write commercial proposal with technical recommendations and clear division of work.
Project Management (30%)
Apply GE contract management process
Check IED application, electrical environment and customer requirements. Advise customers if needed.
Get missing data and configure IED software.
Ensure the follow-up of QCD of projects.
Assist our suppliers on products configuration, tests program and protocol.
Technical support & Site Trouble Shooting (30%)
Technical support for commissioning:
Site support in case of major incident (at commissioning or operating of our HV switchgears) if the incident is due (or supposed to be due) to one of our IEDs.
Site incident expertise:
On-site missions scheduling & coordination (list of required equipment, planning of the travels, obtaining access & working permissions…)
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education and experience:
Master of Science in Electrical / Electromechanical or Electronic Engineering justifying working experience of at least 5 years on a similar or related job.
Technical skills
In-depth knowledge of low voltage / wiring diagrams.
Good knowledge of commissioning digital system (special machines)
Good knowledge of digital environment (BCU, PLC) , industrial computing ( Cybersecurity) and industrial comunication network (MODBUS, IEC61850)
Knowledge of HV circuit breakers would be a plus (electrical switching and electromechanical operation).
Knowledge of configurations of high voltage substations.
Basic knowledge of electronic & power electronics
Basic knowledge of Ultra high frequency acquisition
Fluent English mandatory.

- phone support to site teams (Service supervisors and/or customers).
- site intervention for major contracts, during fire up of new equipment or special installations
Site support in case of major incident (at commissioning or operating of our HV switchgears) if the incident is due (or supposed to be due) to one of our IEDs.
Site incident expertise:
- Analysis of the symptoms (misbehaviours)
- Action plan & test setup for an Off-line reproduction to confirm/reverse the various scenarios having caused the incident
- Identification and removal of incident root cause(s)
- Writing of expertise reports
On-site missions scheduling & coordination (list of required equipment, planning of the travels, obtaining access & working permissions…)
Qualifications/Requirements:
