#### Position Description:


Lenovo is seeking an engineer for server Hardware functional validation, focus
on server hardware design validation and analysis of new features and
releases. The Server Functional Validation Engineer must demonstrate technical
expertise and the ability to understand new system architectures, pinpoint
problem areas and develop system coverage test plans while working closely
with Development and Product Management.

The ideal candidate should create, define and develop system hardware
validation environment and test cases. Uses and applies emulation and
platform-level tools and techniques to ensure server production HW design meet
specification. Responsible for the development of methodologies, manage
validation plans execution, and debug of failures. Requires broad
understanding of multiple system areas and requires interfaces with
Architecture, Design, and NPI teams in improving system HW design validation.

The Server HW Functional Validation Engineer will be responsible for driving
the System Validation of x86 platforms, which includes validation execution
within in-house lab, results analysis, bug detection and root cause analysis.

Key Responsibilities of the Server Functional Validation Engineer:
\- Mainly focus on Server System Memory, PCIe and highspeed IO subsystem
validation areas
\- Identify, review design SPECs and deliver test cases, SOPs regarding
product specifications
\- Provide test requirements and review supplier test methodology
\- Support test plan and execution
\- Identify in-house/industry standard test utility and provide automation
test case design with quality.
\- Defect analysis and close loop
\- Failure modes of electrical components, PCBs, and electromechanical
subsystems
\- Writing, executing, and documenting validation test procedures
\- Lab and testing equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, hipot
testers, and ESD guns.

#### Position Requirements:


-Bachelors degree in CS, EE, CE or equivalent work experience
-Ability to debug and resolve difficult technical problems and strong troubleshooting skills
-Ability to determine the feasibility of projects in a fast paced deadline driven environment
-Ability to anticipate problems proactively and take appropriate actions to mitigate negative impact
-Minimum 3 years’ experience with computing products hardware/system integration/function testing
-Minimum 1 project testing leadership and test case writing experience
-Preferred test utility design and implementation
-English communication (both verbal and written) and writing skills
-3+ years’ functional test experience in at least two of the following:
-Memory and PCIe subsystem is a big plus
-CPU/Chipset is a big plus
-Storage subsystem
