Job Overview


Daimler Trucks North America's (DTNA) IT Connectivity Platform department is seeking a Hadoop Administrator to work in our Agile DevOps team responsible for DTNA's connected vehicle platform.
 
The Telematics Platform Connectivity team is part of the Digital Vehicle Services (DVS) group and is responsible for development and operations of DTNA's cloud Telematics infrastructure.  Our connectivity platform team is looking for a person with relevant knowledge and experience in Hadoop administration to lead a team in the design, deployment and support of our Hadoop clusters.
 
Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise on the Hadoop platform


- Provide technical guidance to team members


- Monitor and troubleshoot issues in the Hadoop platform


- Maintain a stable and scalable environment


- Able to perform backup recovery tasks


- Able to perform right sizing tasks


- Able to perform cluster upgrade tasks


- Collaborate with Application and Business teams

- Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related fields from an accredited college/university and 6+ years of related experience required

- Experience with cloud solutions like AWS, Azure, Google, IBM or similar required


- Experience with Linux administration including Red Hat Enterprise Linux required


- Experience with Hadoop distributions like Cloudera, Hortonworks, Microsoft HDInsights, or similar required


- Experience in cluster monitoring tools like Ambari, Ganglia, or Nagios required


- Experience managing Hadoop Distribution Filing Systems, HBASE , Storm , Kafka, Yarn and Map Reduce required


- Working knowledge of Dev/Ops and Agile Methodologies preferred


- Ability to work in cross-functional team without supervision preferred
