We are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Assistant

We are currently seeking a Full Time Maintenance Assistant to join our fun and friendly team at Mantra Epping. The Maintenance Assistant is to ensure the presentation and safety of the hotel rooms and apartments, food and beverage facilities and conference rooms and grounds. They are also responsible for the efficient operation of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, fire systems, kitchen equipment, audio and visual, laundry, internal and external lighting, plant and equipment.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the duties and responsibilities will include:

• General maintenance of rooms and facilities (repairs, painting/patching, chemicals & filters & pumps, leaks, locks furniture)
• General maintenance of hotel grounds as required.
• Ensuring all public area facilities are open on time, professionally presented and functioning ready for guests’ use.
• Assisting with external contractors when required.
• Demonstrating a working knowledge of OH&S standards.
• Helping to oversee and review a practical preventative maintenance plan for the hotel and coordinating and supervising external contractors when required.

The applicant we are seeking will have:

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven commitment to providing excellence in quality and service
• A working knowledge of OH&S standards
• An exceptional eye for detail and excellent organizational skills
• An ability to work well under pressure and be a positive representative of the hotel
• Trade qualifications (carpentry) preferred
• Work Rights within Australia
