Novotel Melbourne on Collins is looking for a Part Time Maintenance Handyperson to join our team.

Do you have a 'Can do’ attitude? Are you a practical minded person who’s able to apply common sense to problem solving? This diverse role encompasses varying degrees of trade including painting, plumbing, carpentry, building maintenance or general maintenance duties.

You will be self-motivated and enjoy working independently as well as in a team to ensure all tasks are completed to perfection.

We are in the heart of Melbourne, our iconic hotel features 380 guest rooms and 8 conference rooms.      WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Complete daily rounds and note any repairs of equipment that may be faulty.
• Carry out maintenance on mechanical equipment across the hotel site.
• Partaking in preventative hotel maintenance programme
• Carry out repair and maintenance on hotel rooms and equipment as required daily.
• General Building painting and repairs
• Liaise with contractors and reception to ensure all tasks are completed and out of order areas are bought back into service as quickly as possible.
• Ensure Work Place Health and Safety procedures and policies are maintained at all times.
• Perform any additional duties as required.

 

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

• Must be responsible, self-motivated and proactive – bringing a positive attitude to the hotel team at all times.
• Have the ability to think on your feet
• Trade qualification preferred, but not essential
• Basis knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems
• Confident in communicating with various other parties.
