Job Description
Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Hardware Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Pleasanton, CA location. Position Overview: The Hardware Engineer will interface with customers and global product engineering teams to drive a digital transformation. In this role, you will develop digital product prototypes for our battery management systems and communications modules. In this function, you will: Be the technical lead for multiple projects developing complex systems involving hardware & firmware. Hands-on involvement in all phases of product development, including concept, planning, development, and validation. Lead root causing activities to identify and alleviate roadblocks, to optimize and products. Determine design feasibility, evaluate design alternatives, and select an optimum design approach. Develop requirements, specifications, schematics, simulations (where applicable), bills of material, and material cost estimates. Ensure component reliability based on technical evaluation of vendors’ designs and manufacturing processes. Design architecture and circuits for manufacturability (DFM). Assist manufacturing in the transition from development into production Lead technical reviews to evaluate and analyze designs to assure performance and requirements are met. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required. Minimum 5 years of hardware/firmware engineering experience required. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Power electronics experience PCBA hardware development experience Experience developing embedded firmware for microcontrollers Experience in C/C++ and communication protocols Position Success Criteria: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Team player and strong motivator Ability to travel up to 25% domestic and international We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
