This is your opportunity to join the team of the Agilent Usability & Design Center in Waldbronn/ Karlsruhe, Germany, and be involved in all phases of our design process. You will support hands-on project teams that develop instruments and supplies as well as software user interfaces, working closely with colleagues from different departments - as the voice of the user.

At the same time, you will gain and apply knowledge about Agilent's industry, infrastructure and products. This is developing real world experience in a company that is a leader in the markets it serves. Located at our Waldbronn site near Karlsruhe in the northern Black Forest, you will work internationally with engineers, scientists, marketing and other experts from our different sites around the globe, in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Your responsibilities:

  • As part of a team of 16+ experienced UX designers you will be supporting and working on all the typical tasks of a software or hardware UX designer and be involved in all phases of our design process.
  • Depending on your interest, experience & skills your focus will be on software user interfaces, instrument hardware or supplies & packaging for laboratory workflows, or a combination of them.
  • Your tasks will involve user workflow analysis for instrument- and laboratory software applications as active part of our Usability & Design Center team.
  • Transferring the gained user insights to our project-teams, you will focus to generate intuitive usability and consistent designs for the complex analytical lab workflows by sketching, model making, prototyping and CAD.
  • You will also be involved in conducting usability tests and use them to evolve your design.
  • Developing designs and prototypes based on our UX design guidelines will become part of your daily routine.
