Job Description Summary

Responsible for the collection, management, and proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous production waste. Responsible for solvent recovery, solution mixing, and general recordkeeping associated with waste management, solvent recovery, and mix room operations. Comply with OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations.

Job Description

• Ensure collection, storage and disposal of hazardous and bio-hazardous waste in accordance with RCRA, DOT regulatory requirements and BD policies. 
• Ensure department satellite collection areas are in compliance with RCRA regulatory requirements.
• Compile waste reports and chemical consumption reports.
• Interface with Technology on new products, applications, and continuous process improvements.
• Assist in plant projects and data analysis related to chemical conservation, product substitution, raw material quality, and product quality. 
• May be assigned to participate on teams. Verify raw material quantities, expiration dates and lot numbers. 
• Move materials from staging areas to the mixing room.
• Maintain compliance with EPA and OSHA chemical compatibility requirements and storage requirements.
• Maintain equipment and raw material records and files.
• Perform the necessary mathematical computations including basic statistics, rounding data appropriately, and writing reports which summarize the test results.
• Work overtime as needed by the department. 
• Work flexible hours as business needs require.
• Actively participate in Continuous Improvement teams and activities, including 5S, blitzes, Shift Start-up, updating PVD boards, lean lite, KAS, etc.
• Communicate in an effective, timely, and appropriate manner to all associates (i.e. peers, support teams and management) including escalating issues.
• Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations.
• Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
• Other duties as assigned.
