Reporting to Head of Finance, AIA Investment Management Private Limited (AIAIM SG) and collaborating closely with CEOs, Heads of Finance and other senior management of the AMC entities, this position bridges the gap between technology teams and the business, leveraging on subject matter expert knowledge in investment accounting/finance and proficient understanding of technological capabilities in order to assess processes, systems, integration and architectural gaps and recommend robust and sustainable solutions and best practices, including formulating and articulating business cases in order to drive, facilitate and influence AMC entities’ and countries’ senior management strategic decision making and buy-in.This position is responsible to strategize, prioritize and manage the implementation of finance functions to support, enable and position AMC entities in the delivery of Group Investment TOM 3.0 and regulatory & accounting standards compliance via sound project management, change request and governance methodologies and practices.
Additionally, the position also supports continuous improvement initiatives/projects and acts as caretaker during the hyper care period to ensure swift stabilization and long-term sustainability of the implemented solutions
Job Description:
1. Drive, facilitate and influence AMC entities’ CEOs and Heads of Finance, and countries’ senior management endorsement of proposed projects/initiatives through development and presentation of robust business cases, clearly articulating objectives, scope, schedule, resourcing, budget, delivery success criteria and insightful analysis, including cost-benefit analysis for potential solution options, taking into consideration both quantitative and qualitative measures to identify optimum options that achieve best usage of resources, internal controls robustness, scalability and long-term sustainability.
2. Manage and develop collaborative business relationships with AMC entities’ CEO and Heads of Finance as well as other key stakeholders, including Group AMC, Group cross-functions, GFS, SAPCOE, Country BUs to ensure expectations are met and positive working relationships maintained with the internal clients.
3. Strategize, prioritize and manage project development and delivery from initiation to completion through disciplined project and task management, efficient deployment of resources, prioritization of concurrent deliverables and skilled budgeting and financial management, including identification, reporting and/or escalation of significant deviations in project quality, cost or schedule and propose mitigation actions and plan.
4. Gather, understand and document business requirements from the various AMC entities’ finance and investment teams, including validation of requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to accounting and regulatory standards, policies and procedures.
5. Evaluate and assess business requirements and current processes, systems and architecture design against potential process and technological solutions in collaboration with and acting as intermediary between AMC entities and Group Finance, Group Financial Solutions (GFS) and technology teams (including SAP COE).
6. Drive change request process from socialization of proposed solutions, submission of complete and robust change requests, regular communication with Finance Change Board through to timely approval and prioritization of change requests.
7. Continuously assess and challenge AMC entities’ existing processes to identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency gains and cost savings, and recommending and delivering such to the AMC entities.
8. Support AMC entities in resolving ongoing or ad-hoc operational issues and challenges through thorough investigation and insightful analysis.
9. Ensure that the services and solutions comply with all statutory, regulatory, audit and tax requirements according to the respective countries’ laws and regulations.
10. Support the AIAIM Head of Finance on any other related projects and operations as and when necessary.
Job Requirements :
Education:
- University Degree in accounting/finance or other related fields
- Professional qualification in accounting or finance
- PMP Trained or equivalent Project Management Certification (PRINCE2) or any Certification on SAP modules
Experience:
- 10+ years working in an Investment/Finance operations and system environment
- Experience in managing multiple and diverse teams, stakeholders and senior management
- Track record in successfully delivering highly complex systems/process implementation projects in areas of finance and/or investment
Specific Business Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, including with regards to accounting for financial instruments (IAS39 and IFRS9), and ability to interpret and apply the standards in practice
- Experienced in investment and accounting systems, processes, integration and architectural design
- Proficiency in and awareness of technological developments and capabilities
