Job Description

The Head Chef at Black Sheep Restaurants is responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations at Black Sheep Restaurants’ upcoming Italian project. This person will work directly under the Group Chef and owners to successfully help during the execution of opening and developing the new concept, running the kitchen team and day to day operation. He/she should have prior experience in a Head Chef role, plus expert knowledge and experience with Western cuisines and culture.

Specific responsibilities include maintaining high quality and consistency of all dishes from the kitchen, menu and recipe development, staff hiring and training.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Award winning chef, recognized for their creativity, flair and specialization
  • 10+ years of professional kitchen experience with over 8 years’ experience in a management role (Sous Chef, Head Chef, Chef de Cuisine or Executive Chef)
  • Expert understanding of Western culture and cuisine, especially Italian, French etc.
  • The ability to create an authentic menu with modern cooking techniques
  • Experience working in top hospitality driven areas of the world and cities such as, London, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Paris, Hong Kong, The Caribbean,
  • Experience opening and creating new dining concepts
  • Prior experience managing the kitchens
  • Recipe and menu development skills
  • Experience managing food and labor costs
  • Strong leadership skills
  • A native English speaker
