China RDSP is focused on driving new drug development in China through effective and efficient project management of drug R&D teams, portfolio governance that oversees them and business operations support.

This position seeks a matrix leader who can supervise and lead a high performing team of China Project Managers (with responsibilities of drug project management, portfolio management, resource management, and continuous improvement and reporting / schedule management) . The Head of CRDSP will be a member of the China R&D leadership team, partnering with China Head of Development and functional heads on establishing China R&D strategy, setting policy and providing procedural oversight. They will work with commercial and BMS China leaders on aligned China strategy and messages.

The Head of CRDSP will utilize a variety of project management tools to inform and sustain high-performing cross-functional performance. The Head of CRDSP will work closely with functional stakeholders and Development Team Leaders in both Global and China in support of the China portfolio through direct collaboration and indirect influence. The Head of CRDSP coaches for optimal execution against drug team plans and consistency with the BMS Product Development and Commercialization process. This requires an understanding of both scientific and commercial issues, as well as efficient resource utilization in a multi-project environment. The Head of CRDSP will coach on effective project timelines and relevant communication of changes to project status or risk. In addition, the Head of CRDSP may contribute to cross-R&D or cross-corporation continuous improvement or capability-embedding initiatives.

Qualifications:
A MS, MBA, PhD, PharmD or other advanced degree in a physical or natural science with 10 or more years. experience in the pharmaceutical industry in areas such as biology, clinical development, pharmaceutical development, or chemistry, including experience in a global pharmaceutical development company. Drug development project management experience is required. Experience supervising and developing technical staff. Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence, negotiate, and drive organizational engagement. Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to the changing needs of the organization. This position requires strong experience with drug development and commercialization, and excellent English oral and written skills. PMP certification is desirable.
