ONCOLOGY RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

Late Development Oncology sits within our broader Oncology Research & Development organization. Working with one of the broadest and deepest Oncology pipelines in the industry offers the possibility to work on the most novel molecules at all development stages. It takes each of us challenging our thinking to keep pushing our pipeline forward and shape the future of Oncology.

What you’ll do

Head, Clinical Excellence and Innovation, Late Development Oncology is the senior leader overseeing the Late Development Oncology (LDO) R&D mission in all matters relating to clinical excellence, including performance, knowledge sharing, technology and digitalisation, external engagement, and innovation.

• Single point accountable leader for identifying opportunities, creation and then operational implementation of clinical excellence strategies and plans to optimize portfolio-, project- and study-level trial design, conduct and interpretation.

• Develop and embed innovation in organizational culture

• Responsible for defining LDO’ strategy on technology and digitalisation, including identification and implementation of new technologies in LDO clinical trials

• Be a champion to establish and maintain external partnerships to drive innovation forward, strengthen clinical excellence and accelerate the progress of our LDO portfolio.

• Provides clinical excellence expertise and leadership at all levels of the organization and acts as a senior leader resource related to clinical excellence

• Lead and / or define strategy for LDO and / or enterprise’ response to complex development topics at portfolio and / or study level.

Essential for the role

• Graduate of a recognized school of medicine with an MD degree or equivalent and experience as physician in industry and/or academia

• Expert drug developer, with >5 years pharmaceutical company experience in designing, monitoring and implementing clinical trials and interpreting trial results; thorough understanding of scientific/technical and financial components of drug development

• Oncology therapeutic area expertise

• Technology and digital expertise

• Successful track record in driving innovation, integrating experts’ advice

• Proven leadership of cross-functional teams in a global setting

• Highly credible in scientific environments

Desirable for the role

• Experience in several organizations and geographic locations

• Global external awareness within therapeutic area

• Ability to travel nationally and internationally
