We wish to appoint an Experiential Learning Coordinator to join our Student Development & Well-Being team.
Reporting directly to the Director of Student Development and Well-being, the postholder’s key duties are:
- to promote the benefits of Experiential Learning to the school community
- to coordinate the school’s annual Creative Week Programme, which involves around 15 – 20 excursions and activities to provide all CSS students with experiential learning outside of the classroom
- to coordinate the school’s exchange programmes with our partner schools outside of Hong Kong, currently in Scotland and Hangzhou
- to develop other Experiential Learning opportunities as appropriate
- to promote experiential learning opportunities in general
This is a leadership position for which the following are essential:
- a bachelor degree and a recognised teaching qualification i.e. PGDE or equivalent
- Successful experience in teaching at least one of the following subjects – English, Mathematics, Science or Humanities – to secondary school students
- A strong understanding of and the capacity to promote to students, parents and staff the importance and benefits of experiential learning / LOTC
- Experience in leading teams
- a minimum of two years’ experience leading and managing overseas excursions and exchange programmes with schools outside of Hong Kong
- A strong level of fluency in English and excellent interpersonal communication skills
This is a position for which the following experiences, skills and attributes are preferred:
- Ability to speak Cantonese and read Chinese
- The capacity to offer more than one subject
- Experience in teaching IBMYP or inquiry-based learning
- Experience of adapting lessons for English 2nd language learners
- Experience in financial management and contracting with service providers
- Pastoral experience e.g. experience of being a tutor, or a leadership role
- Ability to offer one or more co-curricular activities
