**Position:** Head of Drama
**Location:** Bilingual School, Nanjing, China
**Employment Type:** Full-time

Job Overview**
We are seeking a passionate and experienced **Head of Drama** to lead our Drama Department in a dynamic bilingual school in Nanjing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drama education, a creative approach to teaching, and the ability to inspire students in both English and Mandarin (preferred). This role involves curriculum development, directing school productions, and fostering a love for theater arts across all grade levels.
Key Responsibilities**
✔ **Curriculum & Instruction:**
- Develop and deliver an engaging drama curriculum for primary and secondary students.
- Teach drama classes, including acting, stagecraft, and theater history.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
✔ **Productions & Performances:**
- Direct at least two major school productions per year (plays, musicals, or showcases).
- Oversee set design, costumes, lighting, and sound in collaboration with students and staff.
- Organize drama clubs, workshops, and inter-school competitions.
✔ **Leadership & Collaboration:**
- Lead the Drama Department, mentoring other drama teachers (if applicable).
- Work closely with the Arts Faculty to integrate drama with music, dance, and visual arts.
- Engage with parents and the school community through performances and events.
✔ **Professional Development:**
- Stay updated on best practices in drama education and bilingual teaching.
- Participate in school training and external professional development opportunities.
### **Qualifications & Requirements**
✅ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Drama, Theater Arts, Education, or related field.
✅ Teaching certification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent preferred).
✅ Minimum **3-5 years** of drama teaching experience, preferably in a bilingual/international school.
✅ Strong directing and production experience (school or community theater).
✅ Fluency in **English** (required); proficiency in **Mandarin** (a strong plus).
✅ Passion for fostering creativity, confidence, and teamwork in students.
Preferred Skills**
Experience with IB PYP/MYP, IGCSE Drama, or A-Level Theater Studies.
Technical theater skills (lighting, sound, stage management).
Ability to incorporate digital theater and multimedia into productions.
