The Head teacher is part of the Leadership Team, alongside the Principal, responsible to support the overall leadership and management of the school. The Leadership Team’s vision, inspiration and initiative are fundamental in creating a climate which enables every member of the school community to flourish.

You will be committed to leading and teaching within a dual language learning environment and must have a desire to lead a dynamic team supporting the EYFS curriculum, alongside the Reggio Emilia approach to learning.

The Head Teacher / Curriculum Coordinator is accountable to the Principal and will work to develop and sustain excellence in all areas of the education offered by the school.

Key areas of responsibility:

• To encourage teaching and learning through the EYFS to be at the core of all activities related to the school.
• To monitor and evaluate the quality of learning and teaching in the school, and to put in place appropriate initiatives and developments.
• To support teachers to continually develop and improve their teaching practice
• To work in co-operation with the LT, to formulate, develop and review the overall aims and values of the school and to implement and monitor the effectiveness of policies and procedures intended to achieve these aims and values.
• To establish and maintain excellent communication throughout the school community, internally and externally.
• To ensure the School Health and Safety Policy and the Child Protection policy are understood and properly administered.

Qualifications/Training
Essential

• Degree/teaching qualification
• A minimum of three years recent experience of classroom teaching

Experience / Knowledge 

• Good working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum
• Outstanding classroom practice

Desirable

• Leadership training/experience in year group, curriculum area or area of school development
• Experience with Reggio Emilia Approach
• Passion to teach in a unique bilingual learning environment
