The Head of Application Management will be part of the small team that evaluate, develop and manage application solutions to support the China business. The primary function is to act as the local application lead / liaison and is responsible for the local application solutions, evaluation, development, and maintenance, vendor management and stakeholder management. The role will also involve all aspects of the project life-cycle including project management, business analysis, technical design, test planning and execution, and release planning.

The chosen candidate will engage in technical related business development, to find and evaluate new technology solutions and models, e.g. AI, Big Data, Cloud from market, to support the management decision.

The Head of Application Management will work with marketing, actuary and data scientists etc. to define requirements, help understand the target customer use cases and markets.

• Own application management in terms of opportunities development, application development, maintenance, process build in China
• Plan and drive application development
• Understand customer needs and gather business requirements
• Participate the market opportunity development, evaluate the new technical/business models
• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders from all departments front-to-back, e.g. Country CEO, IT
• Utilize & propose new technologies ( Big Data, Cloud ) models , and make it to reality to extend the business capabilities
• Select and manage the vendor in China , ensure quality of local application delivery

• 12+ years of overall experience.
• 8+ years of software IT application management experience.
• Knowledgeable of technology, specifically in SaaS, connectivity and integration of different systems, management software, virtualization or storage areas
• Knowledgeable in vendors, technologies, and partner ecosystem
• Demonstrated business acumen and analytical capabilities
• BA/BS in Computer Science/MIS or related technical field or equivalent experience
• This position requires some travel to customer and non-customer sites
• Experience in insurance industry and healthcare information industry is a plus

Desired Qualifications:

• Insurance experiences, especially in insurance digitization
• Demonstrated success defining and launching applications from concepts in startup environments

• Have technical background to understand application, services and architectural tradeoffs to drive application development roadmap
• Possess the ability to prioritize and evaluate the technical models, to cooperate to external partners on business development with business opportunities in mind
• Have a strong understanding of the competitive landscape – big data, SaaS, storage, virtualization, data center automation, cloud management industries – to appropriately define and position application and services
• Able to effectively use influence, negotiation and relationship building techniques to drive application solution delivery goals
