As the Head of Siemens Mobility Customer Service (CS) Category Management Team over the USA, this position ensures a Supply Base that yields the Best Total Cost of Ownership for our business today and for the future. You will ensure that our CS customers have best-in-class service by developing the most resilient Supply Base, not just meeting but beating internal & external partner needs. The Category Management Team drives the development and implementation of a procurement strategy. Our responsibility is proactively engaging the business to ensure alignment with Business Requirements, Early Procurement, and Supplier Involvement, achieving financial and non-financial targets by applying all relevant procurement levers (Negotiations, Supplier Management, Contract Management, Delivery Reliability, and Supplier Quality). This self-starter role is responsible for all sourcing decisions. Procure resources to meet project targets regarding budget, availability, and quality over all 3rd party materials & services needed to win & implement our projects and customer contracts. Here, you will proactively ensure that our customers come first and their satisfaction is our satisfaction. Your team of seven (7) Category Managers will own the procurement efforts for train repair and spare parts, working on innovative solutions, including predictive condition-based maintenance parts and our branded private-label secondary sourcing solutions. Collaborate with colleagues in sales, engineering, warehouse, distribution, finance, & management, both locally & globally. If you're up for the challenge, we'd love to have you join our team! What your day-to-day will look like: Handle the total Purchasing Volume (PVO) in US-CS Categories. Establish best-in-class supply-chain-management processes focused on productivity, quality, availability, innovation, and its respective carbon footprint. Derive innovative material field strategies based on market intelligence and gear Procurement processes toward strategic objectives. Initiate, plan, implement and control the demand to improve the contribution to operating profit from materials. Ultimate ownership over supplier management in commercial issues, supplier qualification, development, and overall relationship management. Negotiate Master Procurement Agreements, including pricing, terms & conditions, and payment terms in alignment with the broader Siemens community. Review and monitor the sales pipeline and Category forecasted demand. Meet with cross-functional partners and participate in project/sales meetings to provide procurement market information at an early stage, optimizing supplier selection. Identify procurement risks, opportunities, potential changes, claims, and market forces, together with Project Procurement, to avoid possible damage and exploit potential savings. Ensure that mitigation of procurement risks, changes to the original scope of supply, and potential claims are covered in valid contracts with suppliers. To thrive in this role, you have: Ten years of Procurement and Negotiations experience with three years of direct management experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or Engineering Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with both internal and external partners Experience in project scheduling, data and financial analysis capability, and knowledge of strategic sourcing concepts Demonstrated understanding of the entire supply chain, and drivers on the total cost of ownership at each step Microsoft Office Suite with outstanding skills in Excel & working with large data sets, as well as PowerPoint. 10-15% travel required What will set you apart: SAP digital literacy Experience in Siemens' business systems CPM and CPSM certification a strong plus Experience with electronic purchasing tools, i.e., eSourcing & Game Theory Proven continuous improvement skills Why you'll love working for Siemens: Freedom and healthy work-life balance– Health, Dental, Vision Insurance, HSA/FSA, Commuter Benefits – starting Day 1 Solve the world's most significant problems – Be part of exciting and innovative projects.
