Purpose of your role
The UX & Design studio located in Dalian, China will provide industry-leading digital experience, design, and analytics resources to our business channels and digital support teams globally. The studio will serve as a flagship for delivering best-in-class digital products, new experiences, major enhancements, and new digital propositions. The studio director will lead the overall setup, growth, establishment and operational running of the studio. A recognized leader in the industry, the Digital Experience Studio director will have the scope and gravitas to establish and lead a multidisciplinary team at the forefront of digital customer experience comprising a mix of talent in UX, Creative Design, Digital analytics and content publishing, they?ˉll feel comfortable working with senior and executive level leadership in related disciplines and business channels needed to deliver world-leading digital experiences for our customers globally.


Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Strategic

Establishes the overall Digital Experience Studio strategy and startup operations with key stakeholders in the business ensuring alignment with business needs;

Responsible for the management, delivery and performance of the Digital Experience Studio ;

Executes the strategy and ensures that the Dalian Digital Experience Studio strategy remains in alignment with China and with the wider Digital Experience Leadership team;

Responsible for delivering operational performance results and the ramp up of the Digital Experience Studio organisation as part of the Business Transformation strategic objective


Financial Performance Management:

Accountable for the allocation and management of the Digital Experience Studio budget as well as achieving other financial targets

Accountable for measurement of Digital Experience Studio performance (e.g. KPIs, feedback surveys)

Operational:

Provides daytoday leadership and oversight for the leadership, management, delivery and performance of Digital Experience Studio

Accountable for the stabilisation and growth of Digital Experience Studio capabilities, including the on-going transition of additional services and the development of internal capabilities

Maximises the integration and performance of each capability delivered by the Digital Experience Studio to ensure continuous improvement of delivery outputs

Defines and manages the overall Digital Experience Studio work standards (operational procedures and policies) and efficient methods of working

Ensures the smooth knowledge transfer of key processes and procedures (i.e. implementing global design standards and methodologies)


Relationship:

Manages key stakeholder/customer relations with business/functional leadership


Talent & culture:

Works with the HR Business Partner to implement appropriate talent acquisition programs and procedures within the Digital team

Accountable for establishing a high performing team, with an effective working environment (e.g. continuous improvement, customer service, cost efficiency) as part of the overall organisation culture

Fosters key relationships with local recruiting agencies to ensure strong talent pipeline and continuity of talent into the organization to fill capability gaps

Ensuring the mobilisation of talent between the India Digital Experience Studio and other global locations and vice versa where colocation dictates, or team development is required


Supervisory Responsibilities

Line management responsibilities for the Digital Experience Studio teams, which includes:

Content Lead

Analytics Lead

UXD Lead

Key Internal Interfaces

Chief Digital Officer - direct reporting line

Head of user experience design studio India - Support and alignment between teams

Digital Channel Leads - enabling business partners to understand customer requirements and confirm business responsibilities to enable effective sharing of operations; performance management and deliver against their requirements

Heads of Enabling Functions (e.g. Digital Practice & Excellence to ensure the right methodologies and tools are in place and support digital ways of working and necessary culture change across the global organisation)

Finance Function to agree to budgets and financial management


Key External Interfaces

External service providers (e.g., recruiting agencies) including support for Digital Experience Studio ramp-up and transition into new capability areas

External vendors (e.g. out-sourced services providers), managed as part of the wider Fidelity organisation if necessary


Experience & Attributes:

12+ years'experience working in UX Design, Innovation and Customer Experience Design, with proven experience building and leading multi-disciplinary digital delivery teams.

Ideally BtoB and BtoC digital experience

Recognized digital leader within the local industry and preferably globally

Bachelors level degree or equivalent

A willingness to travel and work overseas for extended periods if necessary

Strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills in English, both written and verbal to an executive level.

Confident public speaker and presenter.

Strong stakeholder management skills
