YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Head of Digital Strategy and Portfolio Management, are to: 

• Build, coordinate and prioritize the portfolio of relevant digital & data science activities within regulatory science  driving implementation of RS and R&D strategies;
• Develop the portfolio and coordinate activities of RS DS and interaction with other R&D and business functions towards the strategic goal of R&D to develop a predictive and connected pipeline and portfolio support, informed by artificial intelligence, Machine learning and other digital capabilities as well as creating untapped value for farmer and society;
• Provide Project & Program Mgmt. to strategic transformational projects and initiatives within Regulatory Science;
• Drive significant improvement of data fluency in a tailored way and design change programs;
• Proactively contribute the expertise of the group to initiate pilots and projects with RS functions moving the organization along the digital transformation towards digital target state;
• Lead, develop and manage a team of data scientists;
• Promote and actively seek cooperation and exchange with relevant teams within RS, R&D and guide external collaborations;
• Assure appropriate management of intellectual property;
• Manage the defined budget, investments and resources to fully realize the objectives of own group;
• Support Head of regulatory data science & digital transformation and functional teams in driving digital change;
• Ensure high safety standards and compliant action within the area of Responsibility;

Required Qualifications:

• University degree or PhD in computational or natural sciences, mathematics or an equivalent qualification;
• Integrative and confident manager that develops his team and empowers as well as challenges his / her co-workers to the best of their abilities;
• Ability to contribute and leverage specialized expertise in digital towards increased pipeline value as well as functional digital strategies for RS & R&D as a whole;
• Understanding of how R&D as a whole delivers and ability to take a holistic perspective in defining the digital RS portfolio;
• Ability to drive x-functional science with a large stakeholder network;
• Broad knowledge of data science methods and their application in Life Science;
• Highly developed skillset in strategy development and execution, portfolio building and project management;
• Well-developed ability and will to communicate strategy and portfolio thinking to scientists and managers in truly supporting manor.
