Job Description
YOUR ROLE
As the China Durable Business Head, you will define & execute insight driven strategies to leverage scale and create competitive advantage to deliver China Durable AOP (Sales, GP%). You will drive product/service road-map and commercial approach to become Customer Preferred (end user, converter, and other key stakeholder). The role will report to the Senior Global Director of the Durables business.
In addition to the above, you will establish capabilities to execute short & long term strategies in Automotive, Electronics and Industrial segments and identify big ideas for the Durables segment that help expand the business into new areas. Examples could include research studies, new segment opportunities, new innovations, and M&A ideas.
Lead the business team in exceeding objectives, including all elements of the P&L
Drive deep end user engagement leading to actionable insights, value chain understanding, innovation, and BD outcomes
Lead the sales team and its effort to define channel strategy and customer needs to become Customer Preferred
Create and update roadmap on Product, Service, and other Value-added offerings. Coordinate and drive execution of this roadmap.
Develop / execute Strat Plan & AOP for China Durables, including Industrial (e.g. Tire, Drum, Petro & Core PET/PP), Electronics (e.g. Mobile Phones) & Automotive (including EV) segment plans
Leverage 1AD (one Avery Dennison) synergies and collaborate across divisions (in particular with Industrial and Healthcare Materials)
Establish capabilities (organization, technology, assets, service, quality, marcom, etc) to execute our strategy
Facilitate and drive M&A pipeline in durables and close adjacencies
Provide valuable contribution to the overall China organization and Global Durables Team
Qualifications
10+ years related business experience, emphasizing sales, business development and marketing desired
5+ years management experience required, with cross-functional management experience in a matrix organization preferred
An MBA with Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering degree preferred
Fluent Chinese speaking ability and experience in China business
Deep understanding of Automotive and/or Electronics segments and channels
Strong internal network across multiple regions
Thought leader with strong strategic thinking
Ability to facilitate and influence cross-functional team & stakeholders
