Siemens Healthineers are looking for a Head of EHS and Facilities to join their Healthcare Diagnostics business based at our site in Sudbury, Suffolk. Recently celebrating 80 years of manufacturing excellence, our Sudbury site designs and assembles blood, urine and diabetes analysis instruments. You will lead and champion the EHS and facilities vision at all levels across the business to drive ownership in a sustainable, world class manner of working. Influencing and empowering department leaders to shape a robust EHS culture that drives performance improvements. Ensuring EHS is integrated into standard business and operational processes aligning with Siemens corporate ISO requirements. Developing consistent safety standards and programmes for the business. Identifying and justifying new initiatives and safety thinking into all areas of the business. Responsibilities Budget: Manage the business EHS & Facilities budget. Audits / ISO Standards: Ensure the business' documentation, processes and participation for internal and external audits to both international and corporate standards are in place. Investigation / Reports: Ensure that EHS investigations are assigned to investigative staff as appropriate and collating responses into reports. The scope of this role includes government agencies HSE (RIDDOR), Environment Agency and other regulatory bodies concerning EHS. Specialist: To be the site subject matter expert concerning industrial EHS, facilities management and product related EHS (REACH, RoHS, Waste Management & Energy Regulations etc.). EHS Training: To ensure EHS training is provided & delivered according to the EHS training matrix, specialist requirements and international needs. Performance (metrics): To create and maintain a performance monitoring and measuring matrix concerning site safety, wellbeing, environmental performance and facility management Contractors / Visitors: Manage and maintain an effective visitor and contractor management process ensuring the safety of staff, visitors and contractors while ensuring the environmental impacts of contractor works are minimised. Emergency Preparedness: Ensure that the business is prepared for emergency situations such as fire, government visits and other situations requesting a business continuity plan. Inspections: Create internal processes such that all staff are able to carry out some level of safety or environmental inspections (PUWER, COSHH, 5S, Energy, Waste etc.) Proposals: Make Justified proposals to management for initiative implementations including corporate, financial, legal or moral considerations within the proposal. Teams / People: Lead and motivate the wellbeing champions and first aiders through management of the Health Promotion Officer. Lead and motivate the environmentalists and the fire team through management of the EHS officer. Skills and Experience Extensive experience in a safety and environmental management position. Knowledge & experience of industrial Safety and environmental management. Knowledge & experience of product related safety and environmental management. Qualified to level 6/7 in a safety, environmental and management relative disciplines. Professional membership of IOSH (or equivalent).
