Job Purpose/Role

• Lead functional and disciplinary activities of the department including staff selection and management, strategic positioning, and local capability development.
  
• Jointly with the Head of PrimeServ Turbo sales, build business volume with customers for engineered aftermarket solutions.
  
• Develop and approve, in conjunction with European factory engineering departments, repair procedures applicable to third party turbomachinery.
  
• Perform technical risk assessments of potential component repair processes.
  
• Provide local technical support for MAN equipment operational issues that arise in the region. Assist customers in troubleshooting and provide the technical interface between our factory engineering departments and our customers.
  
• Technical project management of customer contracts involving revamps, engineered solutions, and diagnostic services.
  
• Assist in the technical qualification of local suppliers of materials and services in support of PrimeServ Turbo business. Lead the efforts to establish new local in-house capabilities associated with component repair and part replication.
  
• Assist Sales in contacts with customer decision makers and build customer intimacy at high management levels.
  
• Develop, maintain, and achieve annual departmental expense budget. Establish and maintain departmental Key Performance Indices (KPls).
  
• Recruit, train, and manage additional engineering resources as may be added within the region.
  
• Monitor any issues and concerns with product safety, including continuing operation of equipment with known deficiencies or damage.
  
• Assist customers and MAN factory resources in the performance of root cause failure analyses associated with turbomachinery problems

Your qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  
• 4 to 5 years of experience in engineering, including experience in compressor design.
  
• Turbomachinery, rotating equipment, and/or generator control system engineering experience
  
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, aerodynamics, and rotor dynamics
  
• Experience in performing engineering studies and developing technical proposals for customers
  
• Previous work experience involving direct customer/end user contact.
  
• Experience in writing proposals and interpreting legal contracts
  
• Excellent interpersonal and English language communication skills, both written and oral
  
• A commercial mindset in promoting and communicating the value proposition and customer benefits
• High degree of customer orientation
  
• Strong networker, well acquainted with the local market
  
• Ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and personnel from different cultures.
  
• Highly organized with good work planning and project management skills.
  
• Ability to uphold the highest ethical standards, high integrity
