The position is responsible for overseeing the GOE management and Shared Service Governance offices. Also, this position is responsible for evaluation/ assessment of the financial viability of proposed strategic/tactical projects, new opportunities and decision alternatives.

GOE Management

  • Oversees the financial planning and budget process of PAL, BPLAC, and subsidiaries, in close coordination with Profit Center/ Distribution Channel Heads, Actuarial, Investments, Office Heads and Affiliates

  • Leads annual planning/ budgeting and forecasting process for GOE (General Operating Expenses) and CapEx (Capital Expenditure) for PAL and BPLAC

  • Ensures achievement of FS close deadlines of GOE and CapEx-related reports and information, including reports of PAL GOE monitoring to ensure that GOE per Division is within budget

  • Ensures appropriate internal controls over GOE and CapEx reporting processes and evaluate significant accounting issues and implement GOE reporting policy setting based on guidelines set by Group Office

Project Financials Management

  • Leads the analysis of the financial aspect of the proposed strategic/tactical projects, determines feasibility/overall financial viability, assesses, reasonableness of committed performance measures, financial impact to the Company, and alignment with company strategies
  • Develops, implements and maintains a monitoring framework to track the progress of strategic projects in terms of actual cost incurred and forecasted future spend for approved projects as well as the actual benefits versus committed benefits for completed projects
  • Oversees the consolidation and preparation of financial reports relevant to various projects’ budget, actual spend and forecasted spend for reporting to Senior Management

Shared Service Governance Office

  • Provides guidance in issues raised by the SSGO Associate, for assessment and escalation, if necessary
  • Drives the overall direction/plan for the business unit, to ensure delivery within committed timelines to senior management and other stakeholders

Others

  • Identifies/ sets developmental requirements of the team members, performance goals and provides coaching/ mentoring in day-to-day work and reviewing job assignments of each member to ensure optimum efficiencies

  • Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/ or other requirements
