Head of FP&A

SDL plc is a United Kingdom-based language translation and global content management company. The Company operates through three segments: Language Services, which is engaged in the provision of a translation service for customer's multilingual content in multiple languages; Language Technology, which includes the sale of enterprise, desktop and statistical machine translation technologies together with associated consultancy and services; Global Content Technologies, which is content management and knowledge management technologies together with associated consultancy services.

Key Responsibilities:
With 60% of the role focused on commercial activities and business partnering and 40% on traditional FP&A duties, this role offers great exposure to both the business and investors and is a true value add position.

The Role:

* Acting as business partner to sales and marketing teams, as well as to the CFO, CEO, and wider Executive team. Partnering on a range of projects including evaluating sales pipelines, appraising new products and services, driving operational efficiencies, implementing cost control measures, etc.

* Deputising for the CFO in a range of meetings and capacities, including working with analysts.

* Working with senior sales staff to drive up margins, and to generally offer commercial and financial advice to improve performance and profitability.

* Responsible for the sales and cash flow forecasting process.

* Oversight of budgeting and business planning.

* Support with financial analysis and modelling for merger and acquisition opportunities

* The implementation of new and improved M.I and KPI Board packs.

* The general development and improvement of all FP&A and M.I related processes and controls.

* The development of a range of financial models for use in forecasting, scenario modelling, business planning, and a multitude of other activities. Ideally using Hyperion Planning.

* Responsible for monthly reporting on overall business performance, highlighting key trends, opportunities, and risks.

* Design and implement an appropriate business case template for financial investments

* All other duties and projects as directed by the CFO.

Qualities and Experience
* Qualified Accountant. Able to demonstrate an ability to support decision making. Proven business partner to a range of internal and external stakeholders. A strong technical accountant, with recent exposure to driving commercial activities, business growth, performance, margins, etc. First class communication and presentation skills. Confident, assured, and proven track record in challenging and supporting senior stakeholders. Excellent Excel and financial modelling experience (experience of Hyperion Planning would be advantageous). This business is experiencing genuine growth and positive change, with the Head of FP&A & Business Partnering being a pivotal appointment to ensure this continues and all goals are reached
