The opportunity:

AIA Australia has an ambitious agenda to transform to a customer and digitally enabled organisation.  Key to this transformation, is also transforming our people and organisation to ensure we can deliver on this ambition and this diverse role in our People & Culture function will be a key contributor to this.

You will lead and be accountable for Workforce Data, HR and Payroll systems, including automation and process improvement, and the leadership of Line 1 Risk and Compliance across the function. You’ll make sure our payroll is accurate and compliant and lead oversight of the local requirements, operations and experience of the HR Systems. You will lead a total team of 10, with 3 direct reports. We are accepting applications from Melbourne and Sydney. 

To do this successfully you will:

  • Lead and oversee data and process improvement across the end-to-end workforce landscape – working collaboratively with both local and Group (Hong Kong) colleagues to streamline and automate core people processes

  • Project leadership in various corporate transactions to ensure quality and timely delivery of workforce related data

  • Be accountable for HR and Payroll data governance, integrity, and auditing

  • Approve and authorise the release, loading and transfer of data into and out of key systems

  • Plan and lead the cross functional execution of employee data standardization and cleansing initiatives

  • Provide leadership and continuous improvement of data quality, including highlighting data quality issues and driving them to resolution

  • Lead employee data intensive initiatives including reorganizations, restructuring, acquisitions, employee integration

  • Lead local management of testing, review, and implementation of system maintenance, releases, upgrades, and enhancements

  • Collaborate and coordinate with AIA Group and AIA HRIT teams, and build relationships across other local business units, to drive and facilitate improved experiences

  • Be accountable for the monitoring and management of workforce risks, and compliance with legislation – including leadership of the Line 1 Risk function for People & Culture

Successful applications will have:

  • Significant and demonstrated experience of HRIS/Systems experience including a deep understanding of system architectures, complex reporting, and analytics with experience leading transformation initiatives and implementation of new technologies

  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading cross-cultural teams

  • Experience working in Global organisations, building relationships and getting things done through influence and understanding of the enterprise context

  • Prior experience managing and supporting multiple HR technology products and their cohesion (HCM, Payroll, Talent, Recruitment, Benefits, content providers and custom platforms).

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with confidential and sensitive information at all levels of a large, complex organisation

  • Ability to straddle the technical and functional aspects of the human resources landscape – translating technical system understanding to HR subject matter experts and vice versa

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and project management skills related to prioritizing and executing timely deliverables within timeline, scope, and budget
