Job Description

We wish to appoint a teacher of Geography and Humanities to join our vibrant and highly successful Individuals & Societies Faculty, which has 14 teachers offering many subjects – History, Geography, Economics, Business, Liberal Studies, Environmental Systems & Societies, MYP I&S (junior secondary integrated humanities). A Head of Department position is available for a suitably experienced applicant.

 

This is a position for which the following are essential:

  • a bachelor degree in Geography or related subject, and a recognised teaching qualification i.e. PGDE or equivalent
  • a minimum of two years’ experience teaching the IB MYP I&S curriculum
  • a minimum of two years’ experience teaching Geography as a discrete subject
  • A strong level of fluency in English

 

This is a position for which the following are preferred

  • experience in MYP curriculum planning
  • experience in IBDP Geography or HKDSE Geography
  • Experience of adapting lessons for English 2nd language learners
  • Pastoral experience e.g. experience of being a tutor
  • Ability to offer one or more co-curricular activities
