ABOUT THE ROLE?

The Head of Global IT Plan, Logistics, Sourcing & ERP Transformation is responsible for the global technology strategy & program delivery for all aspects of IT/Digital technology enabling AstraZeneca global Source, Plan and Deliver operations. The scope includes all aspects of global Source, Plan and Deliver processes, including foundational and transformational technologies.
 

The role will work and influence extensively across Operations (Sites/Regions and Business Process Owners) to build and deploy IT/Digital strategies and roadmaps to drive the adoption of technology enabling in scope Global Operations business objectives and strategy. This includes all aspects of information technology, systems, data and analytics, automation including machine learning, artificial intelligence, robotics process automation etc as well as support and training. This will also include the simplification of ERP within the Operations. To deliver the strategy the function will develop solutions, run platforms, and execute agile delivery to deploy, continuously improve, and exploit the full potential of IT/Digital investments. The role will partner with strategic technology vendors and lead the strategic relationships with key suppliers.

This role will have an end-to-end Operations IT responsibility to drive an integrated approach across all in scope key processes and regions/functions ensuring investment and exploitation of technology which delivers the biggest benefit to global operations, AZ and patients. This will include the end-to-end digital strategy & roadmap, standard digital/innovation processes, strategic technology partnerships, and integrated communication and governance. This role will partner closely with the Business Digital Lead and Program Lead to drive digital transformation, and collaborate extensively across all parts of Operations, IT, and throughout AZ.  

This Senior Leadership role with have regular interface with OSLT/Operating Committee and ITLT, Enterprise Architecture, Data & Analytics, Technology Innovation, Business Process Owners, Lean Digital, and other SET IT/Digital Teams. The function will own the IT business relationship with OSLT Leaders in Global Supply Chain & Sourcing and Transformation Strategy & PMO. The role will also own the relationship with the Enterprise Process Owner to ensure fully integrated global business and technology strategies. 

This is a huge opportunity to transform Global Operations within the scope areas as they move from ‘Doing Digital’ to truly ‘Being Digital’.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED?

• Degree level education in Information Technology or another relevant field.
• Experience developing and driving IT/Digital Strategy in a complex regulated multi-national environment
• Extensive experience managing multi-layered teams in a global environment
• Experience operating in complex, large, matrixed IT organisations specifically SAP ERP and potential S4 Hana.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or another relevant field.
• Organisational expert building and leading complex cross-functional teams and programs.
• Excellent knowledge of leading-edge digital trends including Industry 4.0 and Supply Chain & Manufacturing Technology (SAP, MES, MI, Analytics, AI, etc)
• Extensive knowledge of driving all aspects of digital transformation and digital innovation.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes, current challenges, and priorities.
• Capability to communicate complex IT to the business and business to IT.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders to obtain desired outcomes while maintaining effective, positive relationships
• Track record in building strong and credible relationships and with key senior stakeholders including SET and SET-1 level.
• Leadership skills promoting, motivating, and empowering others to accomplish individual, team and organisational objectives.
• Lean Awareness & understanding of the AZ Supply System
