Job Description
· A highly professional and experienced Head of Learning and Teaching will be needed in the International Curriculum Centre.
· Experience in teaching Chinese students is a pre-requisite.
· Experience in teaching IGCSE and A-level courses and in team management are desirable.

Responsibilities in Teaching:
1. Be responsible for schemes of work, course design, lesson planning and delivery to a range of classes offered at the center.
2. Marking work, giving appropriate feedback and maintaining records of students’ progress and development.
3. Assessing progress and helping students to meet learning targets.
4. Researching new topics areas and maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge.
5. Creation and oversight of a tutoring and mentoring programme designed to optimise student attainment.
6. Managing students’ behavior in the classroom and on school premises, and applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour.
7. Participating in departmental meetings, parent meetings and whole school training events, and contacting parents for updating students’ academic performance.

Responsibilities in Management:
1. Manage the overall learning and teaching programme for the centre.
2. Monitor and oversee the subject teachers’ daily and weekly teaching plans.
3. Manage students’ university application counselling and planning programmes.
4. Approve and effectively manage the teaching materials selected by subject teachers (etc.) within budgetary allocations.
5. Consistently monitor subject teaching quality to ensure continual improvements in teaching quality.
6. Responsible for testing and assessment arrangements.
7. Responsible for the production of regular work summaries and termly/yearly reports on academic work.
8. Support the marketing and sales department in marketing and student recruitment activities for the Centre.

Candidate Requirements
1. A minimum of five years’ teaching experience and a minimum of three years’ education management experience in an English-speaking environment.
2. Experience of teaching Chinese students.
3. In-depth understanding of the IGCSE and A-level curricula.
4. Experience of teaching at A level is desirable.
5. Experience of helping students apply for world’s top 50 universities is desirable.
6. Experience of developing academic programmes.
