Job Description

 Leadership

  • Support the Executive Head of Market Development in shaping the Marketing culture and lead by example to embed the Marketing behaviors as the way we work together as a business. Effectively lead and if needed re-shape the Market Development team in Asia Pacific ensuring full management of team members and achievement of agreed business targets.

Market Development Strategy

  • Create, define and formulate the next step in the APAC market development strategy for PGMs group and lead its implementation. Work together with the Head of Market Development - West Hemisphere to ensure consistent formulation and delivery of strategy.

Stakeholder Management                                                                                         

  • Manage internal stakeholders to secure their buy-in / endorsement for the successful implementation of identified market development projects/initiatives. Preparation of approvals in appropriate boards. Continuously scan and prepare responses to external environment where relevant.
  • Manage the APAC market development budget ensuring efficient spending for maximum impact.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading a team
  • Experience in working with government and associations in China
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and in strategy development and implementation
  • Experience in role with exposure to asset disposals, due diligence and cash flow models would be highly beneficial but not critical
  • Ability to represent Anglo American at external engagements with key stakeholders such as customers and government officials
  • Regular business travels to China, Japan, UK and South Africa.
