In this position, the Head of Marketing will be responsible for all marketing activities of the assigned product / Franchise, to support company objectives. Will conduct analyses of the market segment, including identification of key growth drivers, opportunities and risks. May include determination of distribution channel solutions (including digital, social media, inside sales) and is expected to incorporate results of analysis into product strategy.
The Diabetes Head of Marketing plays an important role on developing the people and organization fostering cross functional best practices while living AZ Values in everyday interactions. This position reports to the CardioVascular, Renal and Metabolism Business Unit Director.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads development of brand strategy and marketing plans for assigned brand, which may include distribution channel solutions.
- Participates in and evaluates market research and analyzes promotions, public relations, and advertising associated with assigned brands/products
- Works closely with key customers and Key External Experts (KEE) and manage markets teams to ensure successful positioning
- Works closely with sales leaders to identify opportunities/issues
- Participates in development of training for field/customer service personnel on brand information
- Leads and drive the Brand team, to ensure strategy focus and maximization of opportunities
- Acts as changing agent, and supports the consistency of brand strategy execution
- Effectively lead, manage and develop a team of talents
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferable in Health Sciences or Life Sciences or Marketing or Business)
- Advanced English
- Solid proven experience in launches / Brand Plan Development & Implementation
- Experience in Cardiovascular and Metabolic Therapeutic Area, knowledge of the diabetes area will be a plus
- High level of personal efficiency (time management, excellent project management skills)
- Flexibility (able to deal with shifting priorities and irregular workload; macro and micro manager)
- Strong interpersonal skills – KEE management.
- Team management experience
- Desirable Requirements:
- MBA in relevant field
- Experience in Consumer and/or Managed Markets strategy
- Experience in Insight/Market Research
- International Experience
- People management
