YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Head of North American East Testing and Operations, are to: 

• Facilitate planning for resources including facilities, equipment and personnel for effective and efficient functioning of vegetable testing programs;
• Lead through change to create an integrated testing team supporting field operations, drive quality data collection and entry into enterprise systems;
• Manage key relationships within the region and collaborate with partner testing organizations to ensure agronomic support and logistics and alignment with core business needs;
• Drive novel strategies to realize full value of the regional testing organization to realize objectives to deliver the technology pipeline;
• Work closely with Plant Breeders, Principal Investigators and Agronomic Research Specialists to fully understand the multiple stages of crop development and the importance of each step involved and share experiences cross-functionally as needed;
• Have a regular interaction with other Agronomic Research Specialists, Site Leads and Principal Investigators is expected in order to facilitate efficient trial planning and placement, sharing of ideas and techniques and quick response to issues that may arise (e.g. weather or pests affecting trials);
• Work with key stakeholder groups on the design and deployment of agronomic innovation launches that bring new technologies to manual processes such as electronic and digital data collection tools and automated equipment that create a step change in the agronomic duties within the R&D programs;
• Drive operational improvements, metrics tracking and implementation of best practices at the testing locations and coordinates with corporate team members to ensure consistent practices across the region.

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Agriculture, Engineering, Business Administration / Management, Supply Chain or other related degree fields with at least 12 years of relevant experience or M.S. degree in Agriculture, Engineering, Business Administration / Management, Supply Chain or other related degree fields with at least 10 years of relevant experience;
• At least five years of managing full-time employees and seasonal workers in complex, matrix organizations;
• Develop talent and effectively leads managers through complex situations;
• Proven leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross- functional teams to effectively achieve business results;
• Capacity to communicate and work effectively with all management levels in a multi-cultural organization.
