Job Purpose Statement

To manage and be responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operations of ParkwayHealth clinic pharmacies in China.

Key Accountabilities

• Oversee all pharmacy activities in ParkwayHealth clinics in China and ensure that pharmacy services are delivered according to established legislations and regulations in China, and PPL pharmacy policies, where required.

• Ensure that all pharmacies are adequately and appropriately staffed daily.

• Review, establish and implement policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy operations and services.

• Liaise with medical/nursing staff in the development and implementation of a comprehensive drug formulary.

• Oversee procurement, inventory control, storage and distribution of drugs for all clinics and wards.

• Oversee the monitoring of pharmacy key performance indicators:

• Drug inventory management e.g. inventory turn, inventory days, stock-out rate, etc.

• Clinical quality e.g. pharmacy interventions, physician’s prescriptions, etc.

• Service quality e.g. patient waiting time, inquiry about medications, etc.

• Assist in the establishment of pharmacy capital and operating expenditure budgets and ensure compliance with predetermined targets.

• Identify training needs of staff and develop relevant training plans to address such needs.

• Perform professional duties of a pharmacist (review medication orders, prepare and dispense medications, provide medication counselling, provide drug information to doctors, nurses, staff and public), as and when necessary.

• Be involved in all projects relating to pharmacy services, and perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational / Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy or university

• Minimum Health Professional Qualification

• At least 10 years of working experience as a pharmacist
