HEAD OF PURCHASE (m/f)

VON ARDENNE needs a capable, motivated Head of Purchasing for our local Purchasing department, where

you are mainly responsible for all purchasing activities based in China. The successful candidate of this position

is reporting to the Vice General Manager who is heading Operations. The Head of Purchase as the management

interfaces to the VON ARDENNE headquarter in terms of purchasing operations and tactical development. Driven

by a demanding customer environment, the successful candidates of this position also take a strong stake in

optimizing our local supply chain and related processes. He/she brings in deep knowledge of the domestic marketenvironments and the supplier base. Driving down costs and developing a performing, high quality supply chain base are in the key focus of the Head of Purchasing.

YOUR TASKS

1Leading the local purchasing team by coordinating purchasing processes as supplier orders, quality

assurance, contracts and supplier negotiations;

2 Making sure that the sourcing for customer projects runs in time, at expected quality and cost;

3 Conducting supplier qualification as well as driving continuous supplier development and relationship

management;

4 Monitoring the supplier performance and tracking results with appropriate KPI’s;

5 Supporting your local management and the headquarter by designing and setting up appropriate supply chain

solutions from a total cost perspective;

6 Aligning and optimizing your local sourcing approach on operational and tactical level and implementing the

central guidelines pragmatically;

7 Establishing appropriate communication channels to suppliers and to the headquarter.

YOUR PROFILE

1 Bachelor or bachelor equivalent degree in supply chain related and/or with engineering background and

have a minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar role;

2 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate with suppliers and other business

partners;

3 Understanding the manufacturing process and have equipment manufacturing experience;

4 Being organized with the ability to define priorities;

5 Being pro-active and customer oriented;

6 Very good command of spoken and written English and Chinese is mandatory for this position; speaking

German is a plus;

7 Considering travelling as intrinsic part of your job;

8 Working knowledge of:

– Purchasing management and processes,

– setting up of a domestic supply chain,

– a sound knowledge of Chinese Suppliers and government regulation in mechanical engineering or

manufacturing equipment building industries,

– logistics for domestics and international shipments (importing/exporting),

– and good understanding of utilizing ERP-Systems (e.g. KingDee, SAP) for optimizing purchasing

processes.

9 Establishing and maintaining an excellent corporate image of VON ARDENNE;

10 Must be able to travel domestically and internationally overnight, as needed, up to 60% of the time
